The
online conference included the following:
- Keynote
speeches by Professor
David Nunan, textbook and coursebook author and Professor
of Applied Linguistics at the University of Hong Kong; and Mr.
Dave Sperling, founder of Dave's
ESL Cafe
- Two
concurrent presentations at most
times by over 40 ELT professionals from around the world with
live audio
- Two
panel-discussions by leaders of their
respective fields
- Web-based
materials that can be viewed while listening to the presenters.
These may be PowerPoint presentations, Word documents or others.
- 6
chat-rooms throughout the conference - one for each of the presentation
rooms, two breakout rooms for delegates who would like to continue
discussing the topic of a recently held presentation, and two
social chat-rooms
- A
web-based discussion forum, with a separate topic-area for each
of the presentations. This allowed delegates to post questions
or comments before, during or after the live presentation, and
discussions may still be ongoing on these forums.
More
information on what you need to view
the archives, timetabling and list
of presentations, fees for accessing the
archives and the registration form
is now available, as is a pre-recorded demonstration
presentation.
